To all Metro Users: November 11, 2005.
It is time to plan for the 38th annual Metro Users Group Conference.
Tucson Newspapers and The Arizona Republic have agreed to host the Metro User’s Group
Conference. The conference will be held from Saturday, February 25 through Wednesday,
March 1, 2006 at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador.
The success of the conference depends on participation from all the Metro Users. Your
contribution on cost saving ideas, revenue-enhancing opportunities, 48” web width conversions
and improved maintenance procedures has/will certainly pay dividends. The Metro Users Group
will continue to provide the best networking and information gathering opportunities necessary
to keep your Goss equipment running. If you have a cost saving idea and want to share this
information please contact one of the board members.
We strongly urge you to book your room at the Hilton Tucson El
Conquistador under the Metro Users Group Room Block. Early registration will
make it easier for us to accommodate everyone. We will order a jacket for those who register
early and will also order a very limited amount of additional jackets to have on hand. The
deadline for making your room reservation is January 31, 2006.
Taxi transportation from the airport to the hotel is approximately $45 to $50. For alternative
transportation, you can also contact the Arizona Stage Coach at 520-889-1000 or
www.azstagecoach.com. (they only accept Visa and Master Card).

1-800-325-7832. We have a group rate starting at $149.00. The cut–off
date for the MUG room block is January 31, 2006. After that date the
rooms can be released for general sale at the prevailing resort rate.

If you have failed to mail your annual dues for your newspaper ($125.00) this must be included
with the conference registration fee.
The cost for registration is $150.00 per delegate and must be received by February 3, 2006.
Registration at the conference will be $175.00.

Golf Tournament:
The golf tournament is being held at The Sun City Vistoso Course Saturday, February 25, 2006.
This is a desert course where the natural terrain frequently comes into play. The course was
developed on ninety acres and is well known for its spectacular views of the Catalina Mountains
from off every hole. Plenty of refreshments will be available during the exciting day of golf with
lunch being served after your round. Please fill out and mail the enclosed entry form if you plan
on participating in the event. Registration for golf will be limited to a first come basis. There
are a limited number of spots. We have filled up every year, so don’t be left out-register now.
